Tea tree face mask

Tea tree oil has been shown to be a great treatment for acne prone skin due to its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.

If you are starting out in the world of natural skincare and want to tackle some problem areas try a diy face mask. This is also a great activity when having me time or why not invite a friend and self care with company!

1. Brew the liquid

Prepare the liquid by pouring hot water in a cup and adding a green tea bag. Leave to brew for 5 minutes, take out the tea bag and then leave to cool. Add the witch hazel (you can get this from any pharmacy.)
Add 3 -5 drops of the tea tree oil, mix and then pour the mixture into a shallow bowl.

2. Prepare the sheet mask

Cut out a muslim cloth/cheese cloth to the size of your face. Cut out holes for the eyes, nose and mouth. You may wish to use a paper towel to cut out first and then use that as a template instead of cutting directly on the cloth.

3. Assemble the mask

Submerge the diy sheet mask into the liquid and let it get completely soaked. To use, remove and let the excess drip out. Position the mask on your face for 30 minutes whilst you relax. Remove, rinse your face and pat dry.
