Uses of Shea Butter
Skin Care
Can be used as a body butter on its own or it can be combined with other oils and cosmetic ingredients such as cocoa butter, essential oils and herbs to make skin care cosmetics such as lip balms, skin moisturisers, soap, etc.
Hair Care
Can be used to moisturise hair and is great when mixed with other ingredients such as coconut oil for hair. Shea butter helps make hair healthy and strong and aids in hair growth.
Massage
At home or in a professional environment. Can be used on its own or as a carrier for essential oils. Beneficial in all sorts of massage applications such as relaxation, treating sports injuries and in all sorts of therapeutic massage.
Other Uses
Did you know shea butter is edible? In West Africa it’s harvested and used in cooking. In the food industry, it’s increasingly being used as a palm oil and cocoa butter substitute.
